Resources for Immigrants and Citizenship Applicants

Are you a new immigrant to the United States and want to learn more about the country and its government? Are you planning to apply for citizenship and want to study for the citizenship test? Maybe you are a native born American citizen and want to see how well you know your civics!

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services had created a set of tools to help you. These materials have been given to public libraries, including the Horsham Township Library, and may be borrowed for use at home. You can read many of the publications on line by clicking on the links below. You can also find valuable resources at the website www.WelcometoUSA.gov.

Welcome to the United States: A Guide for New Immigrants is a comprehensive guide for new arrivals. It contains a wide range of practical information to help immigrants settle into everyday life in the United States, as well as basic civics information that introduces new immigrants to the U.S. system of government.
Learn About the United States Learn About the United States: Quick Civics Lessons contains short lessons based on each of the U.S. history and government questions on the current naturalization test. With the additional information provided in the Quick Civics Lessons, immigrants learn more about important concepts in American history and government, moving beyond memorization, as they prepare for the naturalization test. An audio CD designed to help immigrants prepare for the naturalization interview can be borrowed from the Horsham Township Library.
