National Trust for Historic Preservation's National Main Street Center: Since 1980, the National Main Street Center has been working with communities across the nation to revitalize their historic or traditional commercial areas.

The Pennsylvania Downtown Center: The mission of the Pennsylvania Downtown Center is to promote and support the vitality of Pennsylvania's downtown's and traditional neighborhood business districts.

Institute of Community Preservation: a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing environmental information and community advocacy. Located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, ICP operates a web site dedicated to preserving the environment. Although activities of the ICP are largely focused on Southeastern Pennsylvania, the issues discussed are not just “Pennsylvania problems.”

Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission. DVRPC works to foster regional cooperation in a nine-county, two state area. City, county and state representatives work together to address key issues, including transportation, land use, environmental protection and economic development.

Delaware River Basin Commission: in 1961 President Kennedy and the governors of Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York signed concurrent compact legislation creating a regional body with the force of law to oversee a unified approach to managing the Delaware River system without regard to political boundaries.
