Emergency Preparedness

Horsham Township is one of many municipalities in Montgomery County using the new County Community Alert System administered by the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety. This system enables the township's Office of Emergency Management to communicate with citizens who have registered in advance, telling them about any disasters, road hazards, weather-related emergencies, or other conditions that might affect the health or safety of people who live, work, or attend school in the township.

This system makes it possible for emergency telephone calls and text messages to be sent to pre-regsitered devices such as:

• Email Accounts (work, home, other)
• Cell phones (via SMS)
• Pagers
• Smartphones/PDAs (BlackBerry, Treo and other handhelds)
